La fête du vin
Composition : 2004, Eguisheim, Alsace – route des vins
Hörspiel

Preparations for the alsatian wines feast : ornementations, stages installations for the brassbands and the dance ; omnipresent tractors.
The village is seething with increasing excitement. At night, coming back through the wine paths, one feels the fresh air. My continuously « staring » microphones « look » at the orange colored full moon rise, disquieting to a slight extent. I stop cycling ; I listen to crickets. In the distance, mechanical sounds of the busy roads of the valley.
Next day, after the echoes sounding from the churches, comes the great musical parade . Spectators are overwhelmed by the noise of the bottles, of the bands and the burts of laughter. And more, the visit of a cellar where an enthusiast wine grower shared a ritual tasting of selected wines. It revealed the subtil reachness of the soil, whose each parcel and each wine grower owns a particular originality. Moments of silence are eloquent. We are able to « hear » our taste buds quivering.
Happily.
La Saint-Vincent

Walking by cold weather from 7 am.
Ensuthiast vine growers, one time more.
Lovers of their work. And the sense of authentic taste.
With her fine knowledge of the burgundian wine, Mauricette takes us along diverse local wine productions those reachness and particularities are remarkable. We were carried by busses from village to village which had been abundantly decorated on the four seasons theme. La Saint-Vincent Tournante, a nearly seculiar tradition, must be reguliarly shared, without restraint, and, obviously, with sense of humour. La Saint-Vincent Tournante, an old tradition to share regularly, without moderation, and, of course, with humour.
Les Trois Glorieuses

Running through the wineyards ; Hospices wine charity auction ; music parades ; La Paulée of Meursault-Castle and wine tastings in private cellars are the references of the interested visitors, of wine tasters and ancient traditions lovers as well.
These three days represent a very important moment concerning the gastronomy in Bourgogne. In consideration of the abundance of my sound recordings, enhanced with vintages sequences, I choosed to compose using an extremely dense cut mounting, made of numerous contrasts lightening the dynamism of people who shared their wine grower pride with me.
As in my first alsatian part, the aim is to be exhaustive not at all, but to give an often humoristic echo from this experience.
